Planting Churches, Sponsoring Children

By Jennifer Johnson In 2011, church planting organization Stadia (Irvine, CA) partnered with Compassion International and Ecuadorian and U.S. church partners to plant four new churches in Ecuador. In 2012 they”re starting another dozen churches. Compassion offers its child sponsorship program and other initiatives through each church, and Stadia Executive Director Tom Jones estimates more than 4,000 children will be helped through the work by the end of this year. Thousands Meet in Brazil for World Convention

Almost 4,000 Christians from around the world met in Goiania, Brazil, for fellowship, worship, preaching, and learning at the 18th Global Gathering of the World Convention, July 25-28. Central Brazil Mission Dedicates New Medical Boat

The Central Brazil Mission recently dedicated a new medical boat that will be used by short-term mission teams to provide basic medical and dental care for families who live in remote villages along the Amazon River and its tributaries. The two-story boat was custom-made for the mission and includes first-floor medical and dental offices and treatment rooms. On the second floor are crew quarters, a kitchen, dining room, and dormitory rooms for visiting mission teams.
