KORE: Beyond Relief

In 2000, Dennis and Brenda Bratton were finishing their first short-term mission trip and getting ready to head back home to Mandarin Christian Church in Jacksonville, Florida. They were standing on a missionary”s front porch, about to leave for the airport, overloaded by the experience of witnessing India”s extreme poverty firsthand. They saw three Indian children walking down the road; the children were albino, diseased, sight-impaired, malnourished, and their hair was infested. They were dressed in rags. Journeying Together

By Jennifer Johnson I”m really excited about the 2015 International Conference on Missions. One reason is the president, Jim Tune, asked me to speak. My first sermon was to 1,800 Indian teenagers in a building that could seat 600, the second was for a group of jaded New Yorkers, and now my third will be to a convention hall of a few thousand. I like to focus on easy audiences. But I”m especially looking forward to the convention after talking to Tim Cole at the Virginia Evangelizing Fellowship and learning more about both the church planting emphasis at next year”s

One Convention, Seven New Churches

Central Brazil Mission Dedicates New Medical Boat

The Central Brazil Mission recently dedicated a new medical boat that will be used by short-term mission teams to provide basic medical and dental care for families who live in remote villages along the Amazon River and its tributaries. The two-story boat was custom-made for the mission and includes first-floor medical and dental offices and treatment rooms. On the second floor are crew quarters, a kitchen, dining room, and dormitory rooms for visiting mission teams.
