A Day for Church Planting

By Jennifer Taylor Last Sunday was 10-10-10 (October 10, 2010)–and churches developed several creative ways to celebrate the day. Some encouraged inviting others to church or talking to 10 people about Jesus; others collected special offerings or suggested members begin tithing. And some planted new churches! Growing Like Jesus (Intro)

Mention growth to a Christian audience, and their thinking quickly goes to the spiritual. Yet “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men” (Luke 2:51, 52). He showed us that growing close to God is connected with every other kind of growth, too. The intellectual, physical, and social dimensions of life all connect to the spiritual. And growth in any of these areas is most successful when accompanied by growth in the other three. Dreaming It, Modeling It, and Then Giving It Away

The Baptism Bandwagon

But most of us will agree with her that it”s difficult to argue with the results of what may become a trend in Christian churches: spontaneous baptism weekends.
