TCM recognized some folks already ministering to the needs of people inside war-affected Ukraine—and elsewhere—would benefit from chaplaincy training, so they developed a graduate certificate in chaplaincy. . . .
“My whole life has been divided into two parts—before and after February 24,” says Yulia, who lived with her 84-year-old father under Russian occupation in Kherson, Ukraine, before they escaped to Haus Edelweiss (near Vienna), where she will be teaching at TCM International Institute.
Four people served by the Fortville Area Resource Mission, hosted by Fortville (Ind.) Christian Church, were baptized at the church last week as about 30 people looked on. Plus additional briefs from IDES, ICOM, Johnson University, SpireConference, and more.

Compiled by Jim Nieman Mother and daughter graduated on the same day at Milligan College on May 11. JoDee Dotson was one of eight inaugural graduates in Milligan’s new Doctor of Education program, while her daughter, Taylor, also crossed the stage that day and plans to return in the fall to pursue a master’s degree in occupational therapy. One of Milligan’s MBA graduates couldn’t attend commencement. Vanessa Botero was with the Milligan cycling team that was competing in the Division I Varsity Nationals in Augusta, Ga. But Milligan president Bill Greer hoofed down to Augusta, Ga., on May 12 to hand-deliver the diploma to Botero. (Oh, and Milligan finished second in the competition.)

TCM, which was founded in 1957 and began offering classes at its TCM International Institute in Austria in 1991, is now offering learning opportunities in the United States. “We are not slowing down our ministry in Eastern Europe or Central Asia in any way,” said David Roadcup, global outreach representative with TCM. “We are just adding the U.S. to our ministry, as well as other countries to which the Lord might be leading us.” Stateside course instruction will consist of three months of online work followed by three days of face-to-face lectures and discussion. It was in the hallway outside the chapel at Emmanuel Christian Seminary. He congratulated me on being named the president of TCM. I asked him if he had any advice on how to remain passionate about fund-raising. I”ll never forget his answer. He said, “Tony, you have to really believe in what you are doing.” He was right. By Jennifer Taylor Eight Christian universities and graduate schools have partnered together to offer an online PhD in leadership studies. This new Center for Global Studies, under the sponsorship of Johnson University (Knoxville, TN), will prepare students around the world for academic or ministry leadership. The program “is an online, research-based, interdisciplinary degree that seeks to facilitate the leadership abilities and roles of Christian men and women working in inter-cultural, cross-cultural, and/or international contexts,” the center writes.
