Dr. Richard E. “Dick” Brown, 86, who served many years as professor and academic dean at Nebraska Christian College, died peacefully, with his wife by his side, at Atlantic (Iowa) Specialty Care on April 17, 2024. Dr. Brown also serve many churches throughout the Midwest. . . .

Registration is open for the 20th annual Stone-Campbell Journal Conference, slated for April 16-17. Due to uncertainties related to COVID-19, the event recently was switched to virtual for the second consecutive year. Lincoln Christian University, which was to have hosted, will provide technical staff to facilitate the online-only event. A few years ago, Christian college presidents were invited to our movement’s annual megachurch ministers’ get-together. We gathered in San Antonio, Texas, to talk about greater partnership, and one preacher stood to share his view. “To be honest, do we really need these colleges?” he asked. “So many are small and struggling, and I hire most of my people from within. By Chuck Sackett I finally wrote the letter I”ve been promising for 10 years to write. I know it”s been 10 years because I was going to write it for my 25th anniversary in ministry.
