In a recent press conference on the Kentucky Christian University (KCU) campus in Grayson, KY, KCU President Dr. Terry Allcorn marked an historic milestone for the university with a campus celebration honoring the complete elimination of institutional debt and the public launch of a bold new capital campaign, “For the Good of the Cause,” to invest in the university’s future.
The celebration event brought together students, alumni, faculty, donors, and community leaders for a ceremonial announcement, a moment of thanksgiving for the Lord’s provision, and a renewed commitment to the future of Christ-centered higher education. “We have officially entered a new era of faithfulness, viability, and relevance,” President Allcorn exclaimed. “Becoming debt-free is not the end—it is the beginning. This campaign is about building forward with confidence and calling.”
The “For the Good of the Cause” capital campaign seeks to raise $7 million for the university, with over $5 million already received in gifts and commitments. The campaign will fund three strategic priorities:
1. The Elimination of Long-Term University Debt – Which has already been achieved, as the first $3 million of the campaign was used for the purpose of eliminating all institutional debt. The elimination of institutional debt frees up critical resources to fund new programs, hire faculty, and increase scholarships.
2. The Expansion of Online and Distance Programs – An additional $2 million will support online and distance education expansion, particularly within the Keeran School of Bible and Ministry, reinforcing KCU’s commitment to preparing students for leadership in the church.
3. The Enhancement of Student Spaces and Experiences – The final $2 million will fund vital upgrades to student housing and shared spaces across campus, enhancing campus life, improving retention, and fostering a transformative learning environment.
The campaign embodies KCU’s dedication to its founding mission: equipping students to serve and lead in the name of Christ. “God is moving in a big way at KCU,” Dr. Allcorn said. “And I invite you to join Him in that movement.” To learn more and to partner with KCU’s “For the Good of the Cause” campaign, visit the campaign website here.
Kentucky Christian University was founded as Christian Normal Institute in 1919 by J. W. Lusby and J. O. Snodgrass. In the early 1920s, the school’s focus shifted from training Christian teachers to ministry education. Today, KCU is a Christ-centered academic community emphasizing biblical training and Christian service. KCU offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees across a range of disciplines within six schools that are accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. With a Christ-centered foundation and a clear vision for the future, Kentucky Christian University is dedicated to the development of Christian leaders in the church and around the world.

I have been greatly blessed to worship and serve in congregations where the preacher had been educated at Kentucky Christian. Thank you for standing firm to truth and teaching your students the truth.
