Walton began his service with CCCB in 1980 and has served the college in various roles, including as dean of students, vice president of student life, and athletic director. NCA was one of 362 schools—only 50 of them private—to be honored as a Blue Ribbon School. Northshore superintendent Holly Leach, principal Diane Winningham, and other staff members accepted the award at a ceremony in Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C. Leach told Heraldnet.com that Northshore stood out due to its faith, fine arts, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), and school culture. As a follow-up to our story last week that Cincinnati Christian University will be closing after the fall semester, CCU board of trustees president Chris Hahn posted a letter on behalf of his fellow trustees to “apologize for the situation we are in and for how our communication of the cessation of academic operations may have caused confusion and pain.” CCU is also now providing more resources for students at its website, including a section of responses to frequently asked questions. Dr. Terry Allcorn has been named the sixth president in the 100-year history of Kentucky Christian University in Grayson, Ky. The 1985 KCU graduate will replace outgoing president Dr. Jeffrey Metcalf, who announced last September that he intended to serve only until Aug. 26 of this year. Metcalf has served as president and CEO of KCU for 10 years. “I am thrilled and privileged to be the next president of Kentucky Christian University and follow in the footsteps of men I admire greatly and to work with a team that is so experienced and strong as this one,” Allcorn shared
