Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch โ Organization Profile
Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch is a Christian residential care ministry that provides loving Christian homes for abused, neglected, and other at-risk children. Founded in 1977, Shiloh exists to meet the spiritual, emotional, social, physical, and educational needs of children who need safety, stability, and family-centered care.
The ranch is based in rural Northeast Missouri, with its mailing office in Shelbina, Missouri and its residential homes now centered at the Clarence, Missouri site. Shiloh serves children from throughout the United States, ages birth to 15, when the ministry determines that its family-based setting can meet a childโs individual needs. The ranch does not charge families, insurance providers, or government agencies for care.
Shilohโs ministry model is built around traditional Christian homes led by married homeparents who provide daily structure, nurture, biblical teaching, and family life. Children live in homes that function much like family households, with chores, meals, school, outings, church involvement, devotions, youth group, summer camps, and other shared experiences. The ranch setting also gives children opportunities to learn responsibility, work ethic, animal care, and accountability.
Education and counseling are important parts of Shilohโs care. The ministry uses multiple educational options, including faith-based on-site schooling, off-site Christian school, public school, and tutoring according to each childโs needs. Shiloh also provides mental health care through Christian licensed counselors, with support determined by the childโs caregivers and situation.
The placement process is individualized rather than first-come, first-served. Shiloh reviews applications, provider records, educational needs, homeparent strengths, available openings, and the needs of children already in the home before accepting a placement. This process is intended to help determine whether Shiloh can provide the safest and most beneficial environment for a particular child.
