The merger of Central Christian College of the Bible, Moberly, Mo., and St. Louis Christian College, Florissant, Mo., was officially completed Dec. 5 with acceptance of the merger agreement by the Missouri Secretary of State.

The merger of Central Christian College of the Bible, Moberly, Mo., and St. Louis Christian College, Florissant, Mo., was officially completed Dec. 5 with acceptance of the merger agreement by the Missouri Secretary of State.

Approval at the state level completed a process that began in August 2021. The merged institution is legally known as Central Christian College of the Bible and offers programs in the traditional service areas of both colleges.

The merger was completed with the assistance and approval of The Solomon Foundation (Parker, Colo.), the owner of the campuses of both colleges, according to a merger update posted at cccb.edu.

That merger update lists numerous steps that have been taken to continue ministry education for SLCC students and to continue to provide options for Christian church ministry training in the St. Louis area. Among them:

โ€ข The SLCC Legacy Scholarship Fund has been established with The Solomon Foundation, using endowment funds from SLCC to benefit currently enrolled SLCC students, SLCC alumni and their descendants, or new students from the Greater St. Louis Area who enroll at CCCB.

โ€ข CCCB is leasing almost 6,000 square feet of space in The Westport, located at 11960 Westline Industrial Drive, in the Westport region of metropolitan St. Louis. The space has been remodeled to include three offices, a 7,500-volume library, and three classrooms that can serve evening students, graduate students, and commuter students.

A Master of Arts in Preaching program in St. Louis will start this fall.

On a related note, The Solomon Foundation has identified a buyer from the St. Louis area for SLCCโ€™s former campus in Florissant, Mo. A Christian school that enrolls metropolitan and international boarding students is leasing the property with plans to purchase it; the school is presently making improvements to the site.

โ€ข CCCB has taken over the legacy paperwork and records for SLCC, so all business pertaining to SLCC is now being managed by CCCB. All gifts made payable to SLCC were receipted by SLCC through December 2022. All remaining SLCC funds will go to CCCB to continue the work of ministry education in the St. Louis area.

โ€ข Seven former SLCC employees joined the CCCB team in May 2022. Seven other SLCC employees were offered jobs with CCCB but chose to retire, take a different ministry, or remain in the St. Louis area. About 20 SLCC students relocated from Florissant to Moberly in the fall.
