Two faculty members at Point University have written books. Joshua Rice’s The Patriarch is a spiritual memoir in which he explores the spaces of middle age through the lenses of the Bible—specifically Abraham—long-distance running, and modern psychology. It was released Sept. 28. Rice is assistant professor of biblical studies. Holly Carey’s Women Who Do, which releases Oct. 24, explores the faith of the women who followed Jesus. Carey is professor of biblical studies.

Milligan University President Dr. Bill Greer recently was inducted into the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association’s Hall of Fame. The induction celebrates Greer’s 30-year tenure at Milligan and the advancement of the university’s mission under his leadership.

The former financial director at Pikes Peak Christian Church in Colorado Springs, Colo., agreed to a plea deal last week that requires her to pay restitution of $225,000 and do 100 hours of community service, according to kktv.com.
Sara Ann Mock-Butler pleaded guilty to one count of identity theft “after admitting to stealing money by using a credit card” from the church between March 2018 and July 2022, the station said. She had faced nearly 900 charges.
A subsequent financial director discovered irregularities in November 2022, precipitating an investigation.
