Shepherds Global Classroom — Organization Profile
Shepherds Global Classroom, also known as SGC, is a Christian training ministry that provides free Christ-centered theological curriculum for emerging pastors, missionaries, and Christian leaders around the world. Its motto is “Christ-centered. Training. Everywhere.” The ministry exists to equip the body of Christ by providing curriculum for leaders who may not have access to formal theological education.
The organization is connected with Cincinnati, Ohio, and serves Christian leaders in more than 100 countries through online courses, downloadable curriculum, translations, audio resources, mobile app access, and training partnerships. SGC’s materials are especially designed for places where pastors and church leaders are under-resourced but eager for biblical and theological training.
Shepherds Global Classroom began in 2012 after founder Tim Keep and other missionary trainers taught pastors and lay leaders in East Africa. The experience revealed a need for theological resources that were robust, simple, reproducible, and adaptable to local settings. SGC developed to meet that need by creating curriculum that local leaders can use in homes, churches, cafés, refugee camps, Bible schools, seminaries, and informal classrooms.
The ministry’s curriculum includes 20 foundational courses for a two- to three-year non-formal theological training program. Course areas include Doctrinal Foundations, Bible Survey, Evangelism and Discipleship, Christian Leadership, Church History, and SGC Resources. Courses include topics such as Christian Beliefs, Romans, Eschatology, Exploring the Old Testament, Exploring the New Testament, Biblical Evangelism and Discipleship, Spiritual Formation, Ministry Leadership, The Life and Ministry of Jesus, Principles of Communication, Introduction to Christian Worship, and Survey of Church History.
A major distinctive of Shepherds Global Classroom is its emphasis on free access and broad translation. The curriculum is available digitally at no cost, and the ministry allows printing and distribution under its stated guidelines. SGC makes courses available in more than 30 languages, including English, French, Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog, Portuguese, Thai, Kiswahili, Nepali, Hindi, Romanian, Ukrainian, Urdu, Amharic, Turkish, Haitian Creole, Polish, and others.
People can engage with Shepherds Global Classroom by downloading courses, using the mobile app, launching a local classroom, requesting a Memorandum of Understanding for group printing and distribution, subscribing to updates, donating, or connecting with the ministry about training partnerships. Its distinct contribution is free, reproducible theological curriculum that helps local Christian leaders establish indigenous, informal, and non-formal Bible training programs worldwide.
