Church Providing Meals to Children Each Weekday

By Jennifer Taylor “Almost every church has a kitchen,” says Jane Dugan, a member at East Bartlesville (OK) Christian Church. “There”s no reason they couldn”t do something like this.” Â “This” is providing a meal each weekday for 60 to 130 children at the nearby Boys and Girls Club, an after-school and summer program for kids. The club is a safe place for kids to do homework, play games, work on the computer, and eat dinner while waiting for their parents to get off work. Church Partners with Distillery to Help Haiti Mission

A few weeks ago we shared West Towne Christian Church“s (Knoxville, TN) partnership with Northwest Haiti Christian Mission (Zionsville, IN) to frame three buildings for Haitian churches. This week, West Towne is partnering with a less conventional organization””the Ole Smoky Mountain Moonshine distillery in Gatlinburg, TN. Church member Stephen Chen came up with the idea during the church building project when NWHCM shared the need for five-gallon buckets with handles. Chen”s son works at the distillery, which gets more than 100 of these buckets each week to ship moonshine-soaked cherries. “So far, West Towne has made three trips to Gatlinburg,”
