Several conferences and gatherings are planned over the next few months, including the Pressing On Conference (April 9-11), e2: effective elders' LeadWell conference (March 15-16), the Fred B. Craddock Lectures on Preaching (March 27), FAME's Night of Hope Banquet (April 27), and the Spiritual Formation Leadership Summit (in April and May). . . .
Christ in Youth is expecting its busiest summer ever. The Joplin, Mo.-based youth ministry will host 56 middle and high school conferences this summer. It expects 53,000 students to attend—a record for the organization. About 2,000 students remain on waiting lists. . . .

Good News Productions, International has completed the sale of a building that houses two studios in Joplin, Mo., to Christ In Youth in a deal should advance the work of both ministries.
Christ In Youth could see record attendance at its conferences this summer after suffering two lean years because of COVID-19. But inflation pressures—including the price of diesel fuel for the tractor trailers that transport its gear to various venues—mean that challenges remain.

After 15 months without holding a single event because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Christ In Youth is back. In late May, the Joplin, Mo.-based organization resumed its summer conference season for middle and high school students.
By Chris Moon The COVID-19 pandemic dealt a major financial blow to Joplin, Mo.-based Christ In Youth, which hosts dozens of popular student ministry conferences across the country each year. CIY has canceled all of its high school MOVE and middle school MIX conferences this summer—56 events in all—because of the impossibility of holding those large events during the pandemic. The organization also had to cancel dozens of weekend events in March and April because of the outbreak. Those events represented virtually all of CIY’s revenue stream for the year. Compiled by Chris Moon As part of its annual Christmas offering, Rise City Church in Lakeside, Calif., is helping a college student struggling with bone cancer to buy a prosthetic foot. According to NBC 7 News, the church—pastored by Brandon and Jamie Grant—presented a gift in person to Sam Bodger, a first-year UCLA student. Bodger had some of her left leg amputated as part of her treatment for osteosarcoma. Insurance, however, wasn’t sufficient to provide a quality prosthetic.
