Church Partners with Distillery to Help Haiti Mission

A few weeks ago we shared West Towne Christian Church“s (Knoxville, TN) partnership with Northwest Haiti Christian Mission (Zionsville, IN) to frame three buildings for Haitian churches. This week, West Towne is partnering with a less conventional organization””the Ole Smoky Mountain Moonshine distillery in Gatlinburg, TN. Church member Stephen Chen came up with the idea during the church building project when NWHCM shared the need for five-gallon buckets with handles. Chen”s son works at the distillery, which gets more than 100 of these buckets each week to ship moonshine-soaked cherries. “So far, West Towne has made three trips to Gatlinburg,”

Runners Raising Money for Haiti Mission

Three Marks””Mark Graham, Mark Wilkerson and Mark Mullelly“”are working together to raise money for Haiti. The three will start “at the back of the pack” at the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon on May 7 and have asked donors to pledge a penny or more for each person they pass during the race. Every cent raised will help Northwest Haiti Christian Mission (Zionsville, IN) bring medical help, clean water, and food to the people of Haiti. Celebrities Step Up for Haitian Mission

By Jennifer Taylor In 2001, Northwest Haiti Christian Mission created its first “Miriam Center,” a home and therapy center for dozens of Haitian children with disabilities and special needs. In recent years, NWHCM partnered with other organizations, including AHomeInHaiti.org, to plan a second center to serve 100 more children.
