More Than Conquerors Through Christ
Romans 8 assures believers that nothing they endure can separate them from the love of Christ. Because God gave his Son for us, we can face suffering and trials with the confidence that through Christ we are more than conquerors.

In Romans 8:32-37 the apostle Paul states that God gave up his Son for us and that Christ who died intercedes for us at the right hand of God. From there, Paul assures us that no event or person can separate us from the unfathomable love of Christ—not trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, or sword. No matter what we might be called upon to endure, we can know with certainty that none of these things can separate us from Christ’s love.
In verse 37 Paul adds another phenomenal promise: “Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us” (The Amplified Bible, Classic Edition).
We don’t just survive suffering, times of trial, and the assaults of Satan; God gives us victory through Christ in all things. Through Jesus we have the strength to live a victorious, overcoming life. And we’re not just conquerors; we’re more than conquerors because God gave his Son to die for us and Jesus willingly gave his life.
As we gather around the Lord’s table, let’s rejoice in the knowledge that our sins are forgiven and that we are empowered to live triumphantly. Let’s enter this new week recognizing that we are more than conquerors.
