Four people served by the Fortville Area Resource Mission (FARM), hosted by Fortville (Ind.) Christian Church, were baptized at the church last week as about 30 people looked on.
Those baptized are among several people who have gotten to know food pantry volunteers and then started attending either a Bible study or a ministry for people dealing with addiction, or both.
FARM Director Lisa Reynolds read written testimonies before each person entered the baptistery, according to an article in the Daily Reporter. “I want baptism to be a symbol that an old life is washed away,” one woman wrote in a testimony that was read just before she was baptized by her parents.

International Disaster Emergency Service, which already has provided 1 million GAP meals to its partners in countries surrounding Ukraine in response to the Russian invasion, has scheduled a weeklong meal-packing event at its Noblesville, Ind., headquarters. Volunteers are needed.
The GAP (God Always Provides) meals will be packed starting Monday, May 9, through Saturday, May 14. IDES intends to send these meals to partners within Ukraine. Those who wish to help pack 260,000 meals may register via the IDES website or this link.

Registration is open for both the International Conference On Missions (Nov. 3-5) and the Student ICOM (Nov. 4-5). The combined 2022 gathering takes place in Columbus, Ohio.
The theme for ICOM is “Perfect Unity.” Tony Twist, president and CEO of TCM International Institute, is leading ICOM this year. TCMII is a global graduate school for disciple makers based in Indianapolis, Ind., and Heiligenkreuz, Austria.
SICOM’s theme will be “Thy Kingdom Come,” and will center on the Lord’s Prayer.

Three in-person sessions of Johnson University’s “Senior Saints in the Smokies” are taking place this year. The gatherings for “golden agers” will be May 23-27, May 30–June 3, and June 6-10. The theme this year’s is “Ocean Quest.”
The program includes a Bible study with Tommy Smith (president of JU), preaching by David Eubanks (retired president of JU), and a new drama about Jonah (“A Whale of a Tale”) presented by Tommy and John Thomas Oaks.

Speakers have been announced for SpireConference, taking place Sept. 27-29 at the Orlando World Marriott in Florida. The theme this year is “Leadership Re-Ignited.”

A 185-ton, two-story farmhouse that dates to the 1860s—which Northside Christian Church, New Albany, Ind., had been using as an office until earlier this year—was relocated to a nearby location late last week. The house is being donated to Indiana Landmarks, which will search for a third-party buyer for the home, according to WDRB.com.

The Christian Church of Riverton, Wyo., will have a revival May 15-18. Guest speaker will be Aaron Prohs, professor of Old Testament at Summit Christian College in Gering, Neb. The theme will be “Loving God.”

Lauren Gullett will become Milligan University’s vice president for enrollment management this summer. She will succeed longtime administrator Dr. Lee Harrison, who is joining the communications area faculty. Gullett has served as director of seminary admissions and recruitment at Milligan since January 2015.
