Norwin Christian Church is seeking a full-time Small Groups and Outreach Minister to lead two strategic ministry areas: its growing small groups ministry and its outreach ministry. The church currently has more than 30 small groups, multiple outreach programs, and numerous community partnerships, and wants to continue growing both the number of participants and the quality of discipleship and service experiences. This role is designed for a team-oriented leader who can work alongside the church staff under the leadership of the Executive Minister while helping move people through the church’s growth steps and mission of reaching out and teaching all to follow Jesus. The ideal candidate will have a strong relationship with God, relevant ministry training or experience, solid organizational and relational leadership skills, and a passion for reaching the lost.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Leading and growing the church’s small groups ministry, including coaching facilitators, offering certification and training, and building systems that help people inside and outside the church connect into groups.
- Creating benchmarks, processes, and budget oversight for small groups while recruiting new facilitators and helping maximize enrollment.
- Working with the Director of Media and Technology to promote and market small groups.
- Leading current outreach ministries and establishing new opportunities in the local community.
- Providing leadership to the church’s mobile food pantry and maintaining current outreach partnerships.
- Building relationships with school administrators, government leaders, other church leaders, and community organizations.
- Coordinating church participation in community events and helping onboard new outreach ministries.
- Supporting Sunday services and participating in sermon review meetings, staff meetings, and leadership council meetings.
Expectations and qualifications include:
- A bachelor’s degree in ministry and/or relevant ministry experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and partnership-building skills.
- Ability to cast vision, build structure, and lead diverse teams toward common ministry goals.
