2026 Stone-Campbell Journal Conference

The 25th Annual Stone-Campbell Journal Conference will take place April 10–11, 2026, at Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee. Hosted by Johnson University and presented by Stone-Campbell International, this year’s conference will center on the theme “A Fresh Look at Hebrews and Thessalonians.” The event brings together scholars, students, ministers, and others interested in Stone-Campbell scholarship for plenary sessions, study groups, and paper presentations. Featured speakers include Cynthia Long Westfall of McMaster Divinity College, James Thompson of Abilene Christian University, and Rafael Rodriguez of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Online registration is listed as closing on March 31, 2026.

Plans Announced for 2018 SCJ Conference 

For the first time, Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan College will host the 2018 Stone-Campbell Journal (SCJ) Conference on April 6 and 7 on its Johnson City, TN, campus. The theme “Theology of Others: Judaism, Islam, and “˜None-of-the-Aboves,”” will be developed by Ellen Charry, Margaret W. Harmon Professor of Theology, Princeton (NJ) Theological Seminary; Evertt Huffard, dean, Harding School of Theology (Memphis, TN); and Richard Knopp, professor of philosophy and Christian apologetics, Lincoln (IL) Christian University. Charry will present “”˜The Wall of Hostility Has Come Down”: Reconstructing the Theological Relationship Between Judaism and Christianity”; Huffard will present “Allah Is God:

Scholars, Students Gather for SCJ Conference

Biblical scholars and students representing 36 colleges and universities from 16 states and two foreign countries assembled in Indianapolis April 10, 11 for the 14th-annual Stone-Campbell Journal (SCJ) Conference, this year sponsored by Hope International University. The conference, held at East 91 Street Christian Church, featured three plenary speakers exploring the 2015 theme, “New Testament Explorations: Septuagint, Acts and Paul,” along with parallel sessions, study groups, and a student paper competition.
