When Charles “Chuck” Faber began as a full-time professor at Boise Bible College, he committed three years to the school before considering anything else. The church, along with a local food charity, gathered enough food to put two bags of groceries in 861 cars on Saturday. The idea was to give each family a picnic meal to go, according to the Grand Island Independent. Scholarship Honors Mike & Sharon Bell (Plus News Briefs)

Mike now serves as executive minister with GCC and has been with the church for 50 years. Sharon, his wife, passed away in 2015. The couple met at Louisville Bible College in 1965, married the next year, and moved to Glendale in 1970, according to an article in the News-Enterprise. Belmont Christian Church, Christiansburg, Va., recently was part of a demonstration for a first-of-its-kind drone delivery service in the United States. The Roanoke Times reports that Wing Aviation, a sister company of Google, is launching the delivery zone that will drop off merchandise from several retailers, as well as FedEx packages up to 3.3 pounds. Wing has similar delivery zones in Australia and Finland. Third City Going the Distance to Launch Broken Bow Site

By Jim Nieman The first venture into multisite ministry by Third City Christian Church, Grand Island, Neb., started with a request for help more than a year ago. First Christian Church in Broken Bow, Neb., about 80 miles away, had lost its minister, and the folks who remained thought the church “wasn’t going to make it,” said Third City senior minister Scott Jones, “[so] they reached out to us.” The folks at First Christian knew Third City was a healthy, growing church. TCCC averages about 1,500 on weekends and has a strong after-school program that sees about 350 students weekly.

Portsmouth, Ohio, Church Plans for New Worship Center (Plus News Briefs)

The structure will replace the church’s longtime home that was built in 1912 and later expanded. “The building . . . is in really bad shape,” the church explained on its website. Many of you already know that our family was just accepted into the organization Mission Aviation Fellowship. We are honored to be headed to Papua, Indonesia, to a mission school where I will be teaching. Adel will help with the airplanes and maintenance. I wish I could get with all my friends one last time.
