TENNESSEE — The School of Arts and Sciences at Johnson University, Knoxville, TN, invites applications for director of the Knoxville Future of Hope Initiative beginning winter 2016. The Future of Hope Initiative was created by Johnson University in partnership with Knoxville nonprofits and churches and is partially funded by a $600,000 grant from the Lilly Endowment Youth Theology Institute. The initiative is designed to serve as a capstone experience for a select number of student leaders among Knoxville’s most effective youth ministries by integrating theological reflection, cultural analysis, spiritual formation, and vocational discernment. The program director will provide executive leadership for the initiative and is tasked with creating, cultivating, and coordinating all persons and processes related to the execution of the mission. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: planning, scheduling, budgeting, human resource recruitment (students, mentors, interns, faculty, administration, exemplars), management, marketing, and program evaluation. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience and credibility in the Knoxville urban community and/or graduate theological education.
