OKLAHOMA — Cookson Hills Christian Ministries, Kansas, OK, a premier provider of residential care to children and youth that offers help, hope, and healing to children and families in crisis, seeks to fill the following positions:
Intake Coordinator: This behind-the-scenes administrative role requires an energetic and organized person proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel to work with a team of Christian professionals. A degree in psychology, social work, or education is helpful but not required. Previous administrative experience in a multitasking environment is desired. This person in this position shepherds families who call for assistance through the intake process and assists them with completion of intake forms, schedules intake interviews, conducts phone interviews, leads families on campus tours, and provides referral services when needed.
Elementary 4th–6th Grade Teacher: The onsite educational program affords teachers an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the lives of at-risk children and youth while they are placed in the facility. This position is responsible for classroom instruction of a small (10 to 12) combined 4th–6th grade class of students. The learning environment requires ability to differentiate learning in a nongraded mastery based system that meets kids at the level of their current ability and moves forward with them at their own pace. Other typical duties include lesson planning, playground supervision, field trip preparation, and special learning project preparations.
