Student Pastor

Gateway Christian Church in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a full-time Student Pastor to provide spiritual leadership for its ministry to middle and high school students. Gateway is an independent Christian Church whose mission is to bring people to Jesus and Jesus to people. The Student Pastor will help students encounter Jesus, grow as disciples, belong to the church, and live on mission through biblically faithful teaching, meaningful relationships, strong volunteer leadership, and well-planned ministry environments.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Providing vision and leadership for Gateway’s middle and high school ministries and developing a clear strategy for student discipleship and spiritual formation.
• Teaching, developing, or resourcing biblically faithful content for weekly gatherings, small groups, and other student ministry environments.
• Building meaningful relationships with students, providing pastoral care, and helping students grow in faith, leadership, service, and mission.
• Recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and developing adult volunteers who disciple and shepherd students.
• Partnering with parents through communication, resources, and opportunities that strengthen spiritual formation at home and at church.
• Coordinating with Gateway Kids and Young Adult ministries to support healthy transitions between ministry stages.
• Overseeing Sunday and Wednesday student environments as well as retreats, camps, conferences, mission experiences, service opportunities, and other events.
• Managing the student ministry budget, calendar, logistics, communication, records, and administrative systems.

• A commitment to ongoing personal spiritual formation, professional development, and ministry growth.
• The ability to develop and lead staff and volunteer teams while advancing Gateway’s mission and ministry strategy.
• Willingness to participate in broader pastoral and church-wide responsibilities, including meetings, pastoral care, preaching, and special events as needed.
• Strong communication, organization, relational leadership, and follow-through.
