Choir Director & Residential Hall Parent

Mountain Mission School in Grundy, Virginia, is seeking a full-time Choir Director & Residential Hall Parent to lead its student choir program while investing in students through music education, discipleship, and residential care. The position is suited for a Christian musician, educator, or ministry-minded leader who desires to use musical gifts and daily relationships to help students grow academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Teaching high school choir and teaching or supporting K–7 music electives as assigned.
• Developing students’ musical skill, confidence, discipline, and enjoyment while integrating a biblical worldview into instruction.
• Reading music, conducting vocal ensembles, maintaining classroom preparation and records, and supporting effective classroom management.
• Planning and coordinating choir trips to churches and ministry settings, including itineraries, budgets, logistics, communication, and student supervision.
• Helping create a stable, home-like residential environment marked by Christian care, appropriate structure, guidance, prayer, devotions, and encouragement.
• Supporting students’ physical, educational, spiritual, and emotional needs while modeling patience, consistency, healthy boundaries, and Christlike love.
• Participating in the worshiping, residential, educational, and community life of Mountain Mission School.

Expectations and qualifications include:

• A committed Christian faith and alignment with the mission, values, and doctrinal commitments of Mountain Mission School.
• A bachelor’s degree, preferably in music, education, ministry, or a related field.
• Ability to read music and conduct a choir or vocal ensemble.
• Previous experience working with students.
• Strong communication, organization, planning, mentoring, teamwork, and adaptability.
• Teaching, choir direction, worship ministry, or music education experience is preferred.
• Education degree, ACSI certification, state teaching licensure, and First Aid/CPR certification are preferred.
• U.S. work authorization.
